Description

Gutturnio Classico Superiore Vidarò is a ruby 0red wine with decent depth and an ethereal bouquet that conveys aromas of small dark berries, enriched by spice notes.

A dry wine with good intensity and pulp, endowed with appropriate balance and a harmonious roundness that guarantees ease of pairing even with simple dishes.

Vinification Method

After harvesting the grapes strictly by hand and placing them in small crates, they are taken to the wine cellar to be destemmed, pressed and left to macerate for 9 days with regular pumping over.

After the first rackings, the wine is left to age inside stainless-steel tanks.

This is followed by filtering and bottling, with an additional 3 months of ageing before sale.

Soil and Vineyard Traits

The Barbera and Bonarda vineyards that give rise to this Vidarò wine fall within the original Gutturnio Classico area, located in the Casa Benna estate, on the first hill of Castell’Arquato, in the province of Piacenza deep within the heart of Emilia.

For this Superiore wine, only the most well-drained locations are chosen to ensure the grapes are more strongly concentrated.

Food Pairing

Gutturnio Classico Superiore Vidarò is a wine suited to general red meat-based dishes, as well as all sauces, gravies and grana-like hard, mature cheeses.
