Description

In the heart of Emilia, more precisely in Val d’Arda, among the Piacenza hills, each bunch of Malvasia tells a story that comes from afar.
This aromatic vine with enormous potential originates from the Greek island of Candia, now Crete. But it was imported to Italy since ancient times and already in 1500 we find traces of this vine grown on our hills.
After a year of work and care, the harvest arrives, a moment of joyful industriousness, which sees our grapes carefully selected and harvested by hand, kept in small boxes like precious treasures.
In the cellar, ancient art meets technology: after a delicate destemming and crushing, the must is freed from its skins through a soft pressing and begins a journey of transformation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature that preserves its freshness and aroma. Once the long and slow fermentation is over, the wine is racked and filtered.
Before bottling, “Luce di Selce” rests briefly, giving it time to mature.
The winemaking process, despite being the result of advanced winemaking techniques, maintains an indissoluble bond with the land and traditions, making every sip a tribute to the territory and its history.

Among the rolling hills of Castell’Arquato, behind the 18th century manor house that is the headquarters of the company, where time seems to have stopped, the Malvasia vineyard extends like a painting, painted in green and gold.
Here, in the Casa Benna area, the land tells ancient stories, first of seas and whales, and later of human presence on our hills, such as the Neolithic flint found during the planting of the Malvasia vineyard, a silent witness to a Neolithic presence in our territory.
This soil, planted with a retouching system and cared for with the Guyot method, is not simple earth: it is a heritage of history and riches, which gives low yields but grapes of extraordinary concentration.
“Luce di Selce” is not just a wine; it is a story of a timeless place, a tribute to nature and to the history that for centuries has seen man intertwine with viticulture.
