A DOC Very small but one of the oldest in Italy
The history of Monterosso starts from the dawn of the DOC, but even before the recognition, this wine was made on the hills of Castell’Arquato. The production area is very limited and few bottles are produced, making it a niche wine, a real gem for those who are outside the region.
Monterosso is born from the union of 4 grapes, Malvasia, Moscato, Trebbiano Romagnolo and Ortrugo. Each bunch destined for the “Monterosso Frizzante” is carefully harvested, manually, a tribute to tradition and quality.
In a delicate balance of tradition and science, the bunches are then vinified, freeing the free-run must and starting it to ferment, carried out slowly and at a controlled temperature.
The fermentation develops the sugar in the must, transforming it into alcohol and is interrupted to preserve a sugar residue necessary for the subsequent second fermentation.
The refermentation following the Charmat-Martinotti method, gives birth to a symphony of fine bubbles that tickle the palate
Finally, “Monterosso” after filtration and bottling rests briefly, before the explosion of life that is released at every opening.
It is a celebration of traditions, patience and the land from which it is born. A wine that tells a story, in every sip and that shows how very different vines can intertwine to give life to balanced and pleasant wines.

In the beating heart of Emilia, on the gentle slopes of Castell’Arquato, a medieval village overlooking the Arda stream, “Monterosso Val d’Arda” is born, a wine that is the poetry of its territory.
Here, the land becomes the guardian of ancient stories, vines that dance to the rhythm of the seasons, including Malvasia, Moscato, Trebbiano and Ortrugo.
This mosaic of grapes blends into a unique terroir, where each variety finds its voice thanks also to the complexity of the soil.
These are lands that speak, that tell of themselves through the vines that nourish them, giving grapes that are a concentrate born from that pedological inhomogeneity transformed into wealth.
Grown with the Guyot method, the vines grow lush, protected by the hills. In this corner of the world, the vine is not just a plant, but a life companion, a silent witness of seasons that come and go and of a wine that has always sung the soul of this land.
